well here we go...I have no problem using logic normally, however in this case I simply have no idea what is going on and am not sure what to search for in the reference manual.

here is the issue... I've got a song with about 40 tracks running and one of them has turned grey and it wont play any audio, yet I haven't muted it , soloed, or frozen the track. I can't, for the life of me, get it to play midi data ... it's an instrument track by the way. any insight would be much appreciated. I've never come across this in logic before

thanks in advance , peaz

oh yeah and there are other notes on that channel that are not greyed out...it's just about 8 bars worth of grey area that is seperate from the rest of the notes on that channel.

what happens if you move the midi notes to another instrument track, do they stey grey and continue to not work?

sounds really strange to me, thought i mighta known until you said it was only a small part of the track.

yeah it stay gray no matter where they are moved ... but there are other notes on the same channel from the same synth that are operating fine...i think I pressed a key command by accident or something and now am not sure how to reverse it aside from re-recording that portion. It's not like a major meltdown but it could be if this happened to other tracks as well. yeah it's strange for sure ....it's like it's muted but the channel isnt muted, soloed, or frozen. I'm guessing that it has something to do with regions since it is only a portion of that channel. I'll get out the reference guide again but It could be tedious hehehe.
