Massey Tape Head and other plug ins
www.masseyplugins.com/th.html
I read the Massey free demos topic and decided to download them. I am very interested in any opinion on TAPE/HEAD and the 'SATURATION' idea for digital recording. I believe that analog/tape recording has life in it that digital may lack and would like to get that life through a plug in like tape/head.
Does anyone have any experience or comments good or bad?
Also, does anyone have any comments on the Massey Compressor, limiter, or vt3 EQ?
thanks,
Paul

What do you like better about AM TRACK? What are things that you listen for in a saturation plug in?

Re: Massey Tape Head and other plug ins
Tue, May 8, 2007 - 3:45 PMwhat i like about am-track is that and fully configurable. I mean fully! If you read the manual you can see that they looked at ever aspect of the tapehead/tape response. Unlike most plugs they allow you to modify it to your taste. See i want the good stuff about tape sound "the saturation" but not the bad for example frequency cutoff "uncontrolled lowpass/highpass".
Last year i was so so close to buying McDSP tape emulator but the le version has a 60hz cutoff that you can't change. i HATE things like that... The guys that make the samplitude stuff are really great for understanding desires like mine. It's the digitalfishphones guy... Now if you just want a quick go to plugin don't worry the presets are great as well... -

Re: Massey Tape Head and other plug ins
Tue, May 8, 2007 - 4:03 PMI really like the Massey Tape-Head... I use it on the percussion/drums sub-buss, on electric guitars, and other instruments, too. The effect is subtle and I don't regret it later. We've used it on over 10 albums here. -

Fri, May 11, 2007 - 11:19 AMI got an EL Fatso to help out with this, I would like to see how the am-track compares, I'm always for more ITB if possible... -

Wed, March 26, 2008 - 5:28 AMI know its an old post but anyway - I love my el fatso but the massey tapehead is different and also great - drums and guitars yes! -

Re: Massey Tape Head and other plug ins
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 12:23 PMThe massey stuff is nice... can't say enough about the limiter, and the Eq is one of the least harsh digital eq's i've used. Especially since the plugins are what, 1/10 the price of the waves crap? Give him your money already!
