mLAN + OSX, at last it works :-)

Hello, all ...

I'm likely way behind, but I only just today decided to try mLAN again with my Motif ES6. The last time I tried was over a year ago, and things ... did ... not ... go ... well. Fast forward a year, and several things have changed -- G5 replaced by MacBook, Tiger replaced with Leopard, and Yamaha released a newer version of the mLAN OSX drivers this past December.

So far, things are good -- audio and MIDI are seen by my DAW (DP 5.13 currently, though I just ordered the DP6 upgrade) and the CPU usage doesn't go nutso like it did before. I even have it working with my MOTU Traveler (which remains important to me -- the ES6 is the only mLAN device I have, and i've a bunch of other stuff that demands high-quality audio inputs) in that I can record the ES6 across mLAN and monitor in real-time via the Traveler's outputs.

I still need to get the control surface working, but things are generally _so_ much better than they were a year ago, when I pretty much left mLAN for dead on OSX, relinquishing myself to staring at the firewire ports on the ES6 with dashed hopes of ever being able to use them. Alas, now I am, and i'm pretty jazzed :-)

Regards,

John
