Question...
Have tubes been known to spontaneously explode?
I just went to turn on my fender hotrod deluxe, and it wouldn't!
no juice! wtf!
I looked in the back and found one of the ecc 83 tubes totally broken and shattered, mangled.
It's up in the back behind my amp....
there's no way I could have smashed it.
How could this happen????

Re: Tube (explosion)
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 12:53 PMI know they wear out....but explode????
I did some research and found that the oils from our hands when on a tube mess with the temperature of the glass causing it to shatter.
much like putting thin hot glass in cold water.
anyway, I got a new tube, and I'm rockin' again ;]
(I put the tube in with a rag this time) -
