hi,
i've recently started playing with the ozone harmonic exciter with my mixes. It seems to help bring out the mids in muddy sounding tracks (electronic music).
My question is, what do people think these things are good for (if anything)? And, am i crazy to be using this thing this way?
Thanks!

Re: harmonic exciters
Mon, January 7, 2008 - 6:28 PMThat is just what it is used for. When used right it can add a nice sheen to a mix. The one in ozone is very sensitive, i never go beyond a 1.9 boost in any of the four bands. -

Sat, January 12, 2008 - 11:17 AMI like to make my mixes a bit on the dull side and then use a combination of Liquid Mix on the Massive Passive setting (for the mids) and then the Ozone exciter for the highs (last two bands to less than 1.9 like Eric said) to brighten and clean it up. Makes the highs nice and sparkly.
usually on the tube setting, but if I want a little more extreme shine I go for the tape setting.
I've never used the lower two bands.
