needing to work in windows, i can either trade in my macbook for a pc, or upgrade my mac os to leopard and run pro tools in windows using bootcamp.
my question: is anyone currently running pro tools in windows, on a mac using bootcamp?
if so, is it working perfectly?
i ask because it *wasn't* working very well when i tried on the beta version of bootcamp many months ago (all kinds of buffer errors).
whichever i choose, i will be spending lots of non-reclaimable cash, so i very much appreciate any comments about the pro tools + bootcamp combo.
thanks!

Re: pro tools and bootcamp (cross post)
Tue, August 5, 2008 - 10:54 AMI have a new macpro with leopard. I am moving from a life of pc so I loaded windows XP pro under Bootcamp. The only problems I have had is the system clock can only be set correctly for either Leopard or XP. It throws the other off by a couple of hours. Also I have lost some shortcut keystrokes in my programs. No problems with drivers at all.
I do not use the mac operating system very much because my favourite programs are on XP I use both Wavelab (for audio) and Speed Edit (for video). I have also some adobe programs and OpenOffice. All run with no problems except the occassional shortcut key. I now have the best of applications on the best of hardware (8core) Life is a bowl of fresh fruit!!!
Sorry, I haven't tried Protools. But we live in the same city and if you want to come by, we can try it out.

thanks don - i'm curious as to why you have lost some of the shortcut keystrokes. if, as apple claims, bootcamp allows windows to run just as it would on a pc, why would any functionality be lost?
